When a customer's AI assistant tries to book with you, will your website let it?
We assess your website(s) and discuss where we could add WebMCP (the upcoming web standard that turns what your site does into actions AI assistants can take directly).
- Lead the move to AI on your website, or follow your competitors into it later.
- AI assistants are becoming the front door to your business. Be the one they can walk through.
- The first businesses AI assistants can work with set the standard everyone else chases.
"Book the plumber for my water heater on Thursday."
Every month you wait, a competitor can get there first
AI assistants are starting to book appointments, buy products, and request quotes for people. When an AI assistant can finish the job on a competitor's website but not on yours, the customer goes to your competitor, and you may never know you lost them.
- August 5, 2026
- Shopify switched WebMCP on for every standard Shopify storefront. Those stores now let AI assistants search products, fill a cart, and go to checkout.
- August 27, 2026
- ChatGPT's desktop browser started using WebMCP tools on the websites that offer them.
- Today
- Any website can switch WebMCP on in Chrome and Edge through their trial programs. Your competitors can start this week.
Most businesses haven't started yet. That's your opening, and it won't stay open.
Asking an AI assistant to find a plumber, book a table, or get three quotes is becoming normal. Today most AI assistants do that by looking at a web page and guessing where to click. They miss fields, pick the wrong option, or give up and move to the next business.
WebMCP fixes the guessing. Your site tells the AI assistant, in plain terms, what it can do and what it needs. It's being developed in the W3C's Web Machine Learning Community Group, with editors from Google and Microsoft. You can read the current draft yourself. Chrome and Edge are testing it with real websites now, and ChatGPT's built-in browser already uses it.
Without WebMCP
With WebMCP
It's still early. The standard is in a trial period and details are changing, which is exactly why we handle the updates for you.
Forms are only the starting point. With a script connected to your site's own code, an AI assistant can take almost any action a visitor can.
- Forms
- Contact, quote, booking, application, and sign-up forms
- Shopping
- Product search, filters and comparisons, carts, and checkout
- Account tasks
- Order status, rescheduling, cancellations, and support requests
- Tools on the page
- Calculators, estimators, and product configurators
- Web apps
- Creating a task, updating a record, and other work inside your app
- Looking things up
- Menus, prices, availability, hours, and locations
If your customers can do it on your website, it's a candidate. Our free assessment shows which ones matter most for your business.
Support is growing month by month. Visitors on browsers without WebMCP see your site exactly as before.
Browsers
- Google ChromeTrialOrigin trial in Chrome 149 to 156. Each website signs up to switch it on.
- Microsoft EdgeTrialOrigin trial from Edge 150, running until November 17, 2026.
- BraveIn progressExperimental work underway, not switched on for users yet.
- Mozilla FirefoxReviewingMozilla's official position is neutral while it waits to see real-world use.
- Apple SafariOpposedApple's WebKit team opposes the current design, citing accessibility and security concerns.
AI assistants
- ChatGPT (OpenAI)LiveUses WebMCP in the ChatGPT desktop app's built-in browser since August 27, 2026. Not yet in Enterprise or Edu workspaces.
- Gemini in Chrome (Google)ComingGoogle has said support is coming. No date announced yet.
Platforms
- ShopifyLiveEvery Liquid storefront has built-in tools for product search, cart, and checkout since August 5, 2026.
- CloudflarePreviewDeveloper preview, announced August 6, 2026, that adds general-purpose tools to sites on its network.
- FastlyPrototypePublished a prototype on August 31, 2026 that labels forms as pages pass through its network.
- WordPressPluginsThird-party plugins exist. WordPress itself doesn't include it.
Checked September 27, 2026. We track these changes so your site keeps working as support grows.
We pick the one that fits how your website is built and who's allowed to change it.
- Update your site
- We add WebMCP to the forms, templates, and features you already have. Forms get labels that tell AI assistants what each one does and what it needs. Search, carts, booking systems, and account features get a script that connects AI assistants to the code you already run. Visitors see no change, and it works on older custom sites and on WordPress.
- Leave your code alone
- If your team can't change the site, or releases take months, we add WebMCP as your pages pass through Cloudflare. Nothing gets redeployed. Your site's traffic needs to run through Cloudflare, and we can set that up.
- Keep it working
- WebMCP is still changing. We follow the updates, recheck your tools whenever your site changes, and fix what breaks.
Almost anything a visitor can do on your website can become an action an AI assistant can take. We start with the ones that bring you customers, and everything a visitor sees stays the same.
- Home and trade services
- Quote requests, service bookings, service-area checks
- Auto repair
- Service appointments, repair estimates, parts availability
- Restaurants
- Reservations, menu and allergen search, catering inquiries
- Hotels and lodging
- Room availability, bookings, group and event requests
- Clinics and professional offices
- Appointment requests, new-client intake, insurance questions
- Shops and online stores
- Product search, stock checks, order status, and the custom steps store platforms don't cover
- Dealers and rentals
- Inventory search, test drives, availability and pricing requests
- Company portals and self-service
- Account lookups, support requests, applications, document requests
Where this is heading
- AI assistants finding your actions before they visitComingThe standard's authors are exploring a way for AI assistants to discover what a site can do ahead of time, without opening the page first.
- Multi-step errands across businessesComingAs more sites add WebMCP, an AI assistant can plan a trip and book the hotel, the dinner, and the rental car in one go, using each business's own tools.
- Accessibility toolsComingThe draft standard lets assistive technology use the same actions, so the work can also help customers with disabilities complete tasks on your site.
- Staff using AI assistants inside your own systemsEarlyEmployees ask an AI assistant to update a record or pull a report in your company portal. This works today, but few companies are doing it yet.
- More AI assistants joiningComingGemini in Chrome is announced, and Brave and others are experimenting. Each one that joins can use the same work on your site.
An AI assistant has to know you exist before it can book with you. We add your hours, services, locations, and prices in the structured format search engines and AI assistants already read (Schema.org). Then WebMCP lets them act on what they found.
No one can promise a ranking inside an AI assistant, and we won't. We make sure what they find about you is accurate and ready to use.

Sample only. Your report covers your own pages.
Will this change how my website looks?
No. WebMCP adds information for AI assistants behind the scenes. Visitors see the same site, and browsers that don't support WebMCP ignore it.
Do I need a new website?
Usually not. We work with the forms and features you already have. Our assessment tells you exactly what each part of your site needs, including anything that would need rebuilding.
Does this work with older sites or WordPress?
Yes. WebMCP builds on standard HTML forms, which almost every site already has. How the forms are built matters more than how old the site is, and our assessment covers that.
Our IT team can't change the website. Can you still help?
Often, yes. We can add WebMCP as your pages pass through Cloudflare, without touching your code or your release process. Our assessment tells you whether your setup allows it.
Will WebMCP help my search rankings, or hurt them if I skip it?
Not directly, as of today. Google hasn't made WebMCP a ranking factor, and its guidance says no special markup is needed to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode.
Where it matters is the step after search. Once an AI assistant has found a few businesses, it has to book, buy, or request a quote somewhere. It can finish that on a site with WebMCP and often struggles on a site without it, so the business that's ready gets the customer, whoever ranked first.
Google is already measuring this. In May 2026 it added an agentic browsing check to Lighthouse, its free website audit tool, and one of its tests looks for forms missing WebMCP. Google has turned things it measures into ranking factors before, such as mobile-friendliness and page speed, but it hasn't said it will do that here.
The work also improves things search engines already use: clearly labeled forms, clean page structure, and accurate business details.
Is WebMCP a finished standard?
Not yet. It's a draft from the W3C's Web Machine Learning Community Group, the first step before a formal W3C standard. Chrome and Edge are testing it, and ChatGPT's browser already supports it. The core idea is settled, and we keep your site current as the details change.
Can an AI assistant do things my customers didn't approve?
AI assistants need the person's permission before they use a site's tools, and sensitive steps like payments still need their confirmation. We also mark every tool for what it does: tools that only look things up are marked read-only, and anything that books, buys, or sends is marked as needing the customer's confirmation first.
What does it cost?
Our assessment is free. Conversions are quoted per site after we've seen it, based on how many forms and flows you want converted.
The companies building browsers, AI assistants, and web platforms are already talking about WebMCP. Each quote links to the original.
Instead of an agent guessing the purpose of an interface element, such as a button or input field, you can declare their purposes and manage page state.
When you visit a compatible website, ChatGPT or Codex can automatically use it to complete your task.
Agents can search your catalog, manage the shopper's cart, and go to checkout on the shopper's behalf, all in the tab they're looking at.
Switch it on and browser agents can start working with your site, with no code and nothing changed at your origin.
The agents are capable, but they're operating without context.
…using tools the site has explicitly defined instead of guessing its way through an interface built for a person with a mouse.
WebMCP allows websites to expose functionality to users, often even new functionality not possible to users browsing the web normally.
[It] can provide a clear signal to any automated browser what actions are easily available on a given page, improving their user's experience.
